Zinc College is an international management program for the zinc industry covering all key areas of the zinc business: global supply-demand, exploration, mining and metal production, recycling, zinc markets, concentrate and metal marketing and sales, LME trading, financial analysis, environment and sustainable development including zinc in crop and health nutrition. It consists of lectures, working group sessions, joint evening activities and a visit of Glencore’s Asturiana de Zinc smelter in Avilés.
Zinc College is targeted at managers from all areas of zinc and zinc-using companies, traders and others with an interest in zinc.
Speakers include executives from IZA member companies and experts from industry.
Zinc College 2021 will be organized by the International Zinc Association and hosted by Glencore.

Interactive workshop covering the basics of mining economic evaluation and describing some of the more advanced productivity features of Microsoft Excel. The focus will be on properly structured financial models that follow a disciplined approach, are oriented around the mining/mineral process flow, are easy to review and are re-usable by the author and by peers. Mention will also be made of uncertainty modeling, inclusion of simple options and the importance of measuring economic robustness. The course will be of interest to mining analysts, project managers, qualified persons, officers and directors of mining companies, their professional advisors, and others who construct Excel models on a regular basis. The workshop is not intended to give elementary instruction in the use of Excel or to provide training on advanced evaluation techniques such. Instruction will be interspersed with discussion and individual exercises. Each participant will complete a number of challenge exercises and construct a complete discounted cash flow model. Travel Information
The closest airport is Aeropuerto de Asturias (OVD). Transfer time is approx. 40 mins. The airport is mainly served by domestic flights. International travelers will have to book flights via Madrid or Barcelona. There is a limited number of flights from Lisbon and London.
Cancellation & Refund Policy
Cancellations must be made in writing. Refund deadline is 20th May 2022. Cancellations made after 20th May 2022 are non-refundable. All refunds are subject to a US$ 100 processing fee and will not be processed until after the conference. Substitutions are permitted at all times.
